I just created a sale page for a how to video course I’m creating. The cool thing is I’m just slapping it together ASAP. I’m really taking to the idea of perfection sucks. If you try to perfect everything, you’ll spend too much time and money. First, throw something out there and then see if anything sticks. If something sticks, then start refining what you originally threw.
I was re-listening to some of my Tim Ferris today and one of the things he said was try to be great, but not perfect. Great being a 95% score and perfect getting you 98%. The reason you don’t want to strive to be that extra 3% is because it takes too long and you work too hard. Forget being perfect about 1 thing and be great at 30. That extra 3% will take you 20 years. Do you want a plaque and a ham when you retire or a bucket full of cash? I’ll take the money, thank you.
So today I got the idea to sell a video course and I’m doing it. Suckily, the video quality on the first video sucked so I’ll need to remake it but I’m so glad I’ve ditched the perfect complex and just started doing stuff. I’ll tell you, I’ll get a lot more done in my lifetime this way.
Also of note, I bought the 80/20 Principle Audiobook by Richard Koch. Ferris gave his stamp of approval on this one and I absolutely love the foundation behind it. I haven’t listened to it yet, but I will the next time I’m in my car. I’m betting this is some good shit.
As you know if you’ve read recently, I’m taking the bar fairly soon. It sucks because you spend so much time learning boring stuff. I just want to pass it to be licensed and then be able to practice whenever I want. I really want no part of being an attorney. In attorney land right now, if you’re fresh out of law school, you’re a stud if you’re making $70k or more. Hahahaha. What in the world am I going to do with 70k a year? Not to mention the fact that I’d be working my ass of to get it.
I should take a step back here and try not to be completely insensitive. If you’re making less than, around, or near $70,000 a year, I’m not mocking you in anyway. I respect the middle class people tremendously. Hell, I respect poor, rich, and people from every social class in between. What I’m saying is that $70,000 won’t fit the lifestyle I want. I’m not knocking yours. And if you are offended, keep this in mind, $70,000 would look like gold to me right now. Mentally though, I’m way above that.
If you’re still offended, get over it or leave.
Anyways, that’s what’s in my mind today. I bought a few .tv domains with more video sites dancing in my head. I want to focus on the 2 sites/niches that have really been bringing in the bucks and expand on one that I think has big time potential. Name.com is having a huge .tv blowout at $10 a pop so I’ve been buying 3-4 years at a time because it’s such an awesome deal.
Make that money.
